Here is one way: # apt-get install git build-essential $ git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git $ cd linux $ git checkout b74fd238a9cf^ $ make localmodconfig; # minimal configuration $ make deb-pkg; # can add -j<n> for parallel build # dpkg -i ../<name of package> # reboot ... test test test ... $ cd ~/src/linux $ git checkout b74fd238a9cf $ make silentoldconfig; # reuse configuration $ make deb-pkg # dpkg -i ../<name of package> # reboot Some more details on building the kernel are at http://kernel-handbook.alioth.debian.org/ and in the debian-kernel-handbook package, though I wouldn't be surprised if there are details missing (in which case bug reports would be appreciated). Thanks, and sorry for my slow response. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kernel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
