This is quite possibly a hardware bug. Does the driver successfully recover after this warning? You may find it easier to reproduce if you use the packet generator to send a lot of traffic from machine 1 to machine 2 and the shut down machine 2. If that works to reproduce it then the next step would be to test a more recent kernel version to find out whether it has been fixed already. If you cannot find a reliable reproducer, I'm afraid this is unlikely to be fixed.
