You did read, what i wrote? I want to RE-COMPILE an existing Debian Lenny image: linux-image-2.6.26-2-openvz-amd64 In what is that homebrew, please? >if you still want to proceed try >http://wiki.debian.org/HowToRebuildAnOfficialDebianKernelPackage >linux-2.6 building for Debian is special and not the recommend way That does not help, as this is not about the above kernel ... >use the openvz 2.6.26 repo and build your deb with >make deb-pkg Maybe this could help, if i knew what "use the openvz 2.6.26 repo" means. Could you enlighten me? >kernelnewbies.org might help if you get your attitude, curiosity >and exploration nature right. I build kernels since version 1.x My problem is the "debian way" to do things together with the fact that i try to recompile a debian kernel with openvz! I have no idea what you mean with "attitude, curiosity and exploration nature". I asked a not-so-strange question, tried to give all information and hoped to get help - after getting pointed here from the Debian User Forums. Re-building a package should be easy, i thought ... it seems to be the hardest thing at all. Quite simply asked: Can YOU rebuild the above package? Did you ever try? ___________________________________________________________ GRATIS für alle WEB.DE-Nutzer: Die maxdome Movie-FLAT!
