I think this bug has also hit me now. There is some dormant initrd file
which I don't care about (most likely left behind due to kernel-package
bugs, doesn't matter now). And now the upgrade of initramfs-tools for
now good reason:

Setting up initramfs-tools (0.93.4) ...
update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated)
Processing triggers for initramfs-tools ...
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32.toi
Cannot find /lib/modules/2.6.32.toi
update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32.toi
dpkg: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
