Hello,
When I start the kernel 2.6.31, the wifi does not start, while it runs
correctly with the kernel 2.6.30.
It seems that the wireless parameters of /etc/network/interfaces are not
given to the script /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/wireless-tools.
As you may see in the kernel log, wlan0 is 'not ready' at system startup
time. Looking at the device by iwconfig shows empty values but scanning
by iwlist works correctly.
To make the device work, I must set manually the iwconfig parameters:
# iwconfig wlan0 essid moine mode managed enc ...
and then start the dhcp client (both dhclient3 and dhcpcd give the same
results).
If I try to set down and then up the device, I get:
