Package: linux-2.6 Version: 2.6.31-1 Severity: serious Hi kernel maintainer, starting with kernel 2.6.30-2, my boot process lock up with the message "cryptsetup: lvm is not available", just after having asked the LUKS passphrase. Currently, I can reproduce it with 2.6.30-2 and 2.6.31-1. It still works fine with 2.6.30-1.
It seems that LVM is not initialized and/or initialized differently starting with 2.6.30-2. It might be a problem of some missing configuration on my side, but given that it was working up to 2.6.30-1 I would have expected at least a NEWS.Debian entry telling me what to do. This is the main reason for me reporting this bug as RC: is it possible to provide some smooth upgrade experience? My current lvm/crypt setup is as deployed by an out of the box d-i installation a while ago, in the Lenny release timeframe.
