Please boot 2.6.30 with 'vga=6' added to the kernel command line, then
start your disk test and switch to the text console (Ctrl-Alt-F1).  When
the system crashes again you should be able to see the error messages.
Take a photograph of the screen, making sure the text is legible, and
attach it to your reply.  Please reply to all, not just to me.
