The current stable version in December should be 2.6.32, and I expect we will use that. However, it may be better to use 2.6.31 if that's included in another long-term supported distribution, because then we can share the support burden. I believe that RHEL 6 will be using 2.6.31, but this is not yet official. I don't know about Ubuntu 10.4. Many of the kernel team members will be meeting at LPC in Portland next week, where we will discuss this among ourselves and should also be able to talk to other distributions' developers.
