Thanks for your response, I did try what you suggested but got the same error, except it says that "/dev/hda3 does not exist". Looking in /dev there is no sda* or hda*, there only an hda which I think is the CD drive. When I boot to the default Kernel then /dev/sda3 exists and is used to boot the kernel. Any other ideas?
