Because this _really_ says =most btw: I've just changed /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local to use vol_id.... of course then it boots even with ext4: When I know do an update-initramfs -u (without ext4 added to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules),.. the ext4 module is added correctly to the initrd. So it just does not work, when I do it inside the chroot. Not sure why, though. If this is not intended to work within a chroot at all,.. you can mark this bug as done :) thx & best wishes, Chris.
