I still have the problem described in http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8740 (e.g. if I have touchpad and trackpoint enabled, the mouse hangs regularly). I now enabled touchpad and trackpoint, set the protocol as above, but no crash occured so far.
