wow... just reverting w/o discussing w/ the committer? That's a bit rude. > packaging details have no place in longdesc, since when? Long descriptions are full of packaging details. In many cases long descriptions _are_ packaging details. > also it should be clear where those firmware come from, > which the rewording completly lost. The reason for the original commit was that it isn't clear to users why some firmware is in this blob and others are split out. I didn't know either - discussed it on IRC, and found that this is the current reasoning. I know you disagree with how the firmware is organized, but that is how it is organized today, and it seemed like users deserved the clarification. > also NACK on s/firmware/drivers/ "NACK" - nice > > Modified: > dists/trunk/firmware-nonfree/linux/defines > > Modified: dists/trunk/firmware-nonfree/linux/defines > ============================================================================== > --- dists/trunk/firmware-nonfree/linux/defines Wed Jul 1 09:20:17 > 2009 (r13858) > +++ dists/trunk/firmware-nonfree/linux/defines Wed Jul 1 09:25:58 > 2009 (r13859) > @@ -1,8 +1,7 @@ > [base] > -desc: various drivers in the Linux kernel > +desc: various firmware for the Linux kernel > longdesc: > - various drivers in the Linux kernel.
