It is not uncommon (and not unreasonable) for multiple modules to
declare support for the same hardware. However, short of recompiling
or blacklisting entire modules, there is no mechanism, e.g. via
configuration files, for configuring which module will actually take
charge of which hardware. Isn't this lack the real problem? Is there a
reason why the kernel does not provide such a mechanism?
