Hello again! A guy from the kernel.org-list told me to do this:
"Can you try to load orinoco_cs driver by hand and then add PCMCIA id of your card using command below ? echo "0x3 0x0268 0x0003 0 0 0 0 0 0 0" >/sys/bus/pcmcia/drivers/orinoco_cs/new_id" The next time I inserted the card, I got an eth0 device. But I couldn't scan or change the channel. The only thing I could do was to get some information with iwconfig and iwlist. This looked like a missing firmware to me, so I installed linux-wlan-ng and linux-wlan-ng-firmware and compilied the sources. Next time I plugged the card in, I got a wlan0 device! I am now also able to scan! But still, I can't change the channel. And still, I can't get a wireless connection with this card/driver (because the only AP I could get a connection with is on another channel). Still, I'm very close to succeed! Any help is welcome! By the way: How can I avoid typing the "echo"-command on every startup? Thanks and greetings! Mitsch
