This bug occurs on my Asus P5QC motherboard (ICH10R) with PATA DVD recorder.
Kernel is 2.6.26-1-686
Additional things in dmesg that may be relevant:
(I only guess that ata7/8 is the IDE port with DVD plugged as master, so
it is ata7)
