Package: linux-image-2.6.16-1-686
Version: 2.6.16-1
Severity: normal
Linux kernel version 2.6.16 broke cpufreq support for me. I can no
longer load the module acpi-cpufreq, which means that software such as
cpufreqd doesn't work.
Example:
# modprobe acpi-cpufreq
FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq
(/lib/modules/2.6.16-1-686/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko):
No such device
This is on a IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad X41[1]. It worked in 2.6.15.
On an IBM ThinkPad X31[2] it works in 2.6.16 as well, but on the X41 it's
broken.
