You can use the current vmlinuz image in combination with e.g. the initrd from etch's D-I, as described in Aurelien's site: http://www.aurel32.net/info/debian_arm_qemu.php Perhaps it's better to wait untill D-I support is complete (soon, I expect), although in the end there's no way to avoid a short timeframe in which this hack doesn't work. So maybe the best would be to wait for current package to propagate to testing instead?
