Package: linux-image-2.6.18-6-686
Version: linux-2.6
Severity: minor

Today I updated the Debian system etch on one of my computer, a
workstation Dell precision of 2002 with an old NVIDIA card.
After the update, xorg stopped working, because the new kernel
linux-image-2.6.18-6-686 did not find the corresponding
nvidia-kernel-legacy.
With my computers based on amd64 architecture, I did not have the same
trouble, because the module of the nvidia kernel (not legacy)
corresponding to the updated kernel 2.6.18-6-AMD64 exists.
I think that the problem could be easily overcome by making symbolic
links or installing the metapackage nvidia-kernel-legacy-2.86-686, I
just wanted to point out that there seems to be some problem with legacy
nvidia cards and the updated kernel.
Thank you anyway for the nice work you are doing. I like Debian so much.

With best regards,

Franco Ferrari
