I'm not quite sure what package to file this against, please reassign
it if this is not correct.

The Sarge RC1 boot disk doesn't see the IDE in a Presario 711 EA (AMD
Duron) unless I mention ``noapic'' on the boot line.  The BIOS
disables the APIC, and cpuid claims the processor doesn't have a local
APIC.  However, the kernel reenables it.

I don't know what the solution is; I usually use non-APIC kernels on
this machine, thus avoiding any trouble.  I guess documenting the
issue might be enough.
