That is, I reinstalled it *after* having to use xm destroy on the domU to stop it, and re-creating it again.
Unfortunately, I don't have the original output from dpkg anymore while it failed upgrading. But it will show up if I can reproduce it.
This points to the failure to upgrade yesterday, it's not about the apt-get install --reinstall, which went successfully.
