Package: linux-source-2.6.18 Version: 2.6.18.dfsg.1-12etch2 Dear Debian-Co-worker!
If I compile a new kernel with this version, I get a bunch of error-messages at boot concerning ide_cd [1]. I still had a deb-package made with an older version of this package, so I was able to test this one as well. The result: The error messages do not show up, so I suspect that this is some kind of bug/due to changes in the packages. Modeprobe ide_cd does not work either, i.e. it seems to be missing. If it is of any use to you, I could compile a new kernel and sent the relevant screen outputs (during compiling) to you. In this spirit With thanks and best wishes Yours Gernot --- [1] ide_cd: Unknown symbol register_cdrom ide_cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_ioctl ide_cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_mode_select ide_cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_media_changed ide_cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_get_last_written ide_cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_mode_sense ide_cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_get_media_event ide_cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_release ide_cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_open ide_cd: Unknown symbol unregister_cdrom ide_cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_number_of_slots -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
