I'll be more specific. I ran as root: % modprobe -r ehci-hcd Then disconnected the MP3 player, and reconnected. The device was accessed using the uhci_hcd driver as shown below. > Feb 21 15:05:10 kernel: usb 4-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd > and address 3 > Feb 21 15:05:10 kernel: usb 4-1: configuration #128 chosen from 1 choice So now it worked, but not using its full capability as a USB 2.0 device.
