Hello, I would like to know what it would take to enable generic ide support as a fallback option using a stock Debian kernel-image.
I think that having the option available without recompiling a custom kernel would be a great boon to all Debian users who are trying to use Debian with a Linux kernel on new or marginally supported ide hardware.
