Jurij, after changing the sleeptime for up to 30 seconds I must say that it doesn't work for me either. The /etc/init.d/ipw3945d script exits normally (return code 0) but the script (/etc/init.d/networking) refuses to continue.

It is most likely some timing issue, please try increasing the delay after the daemon is started by looking for a line 'sleep 3' in /etc/init.d/ipw3945d and changing the number (delay in seconds) to something larger to see if it helps.
