Further investigation showed that the system clock in running wild: $ date Fri Oct 27 05:36:58 CEST 2006 $ date Fri Oct 27 05:41:40 CEST 2006 $ date Fri Oct 27 06:25:24 CEST 2006 $ date Fri Oct 27 09:01:09 CEST 2006 $ date Fri Oct 27 18:19:04 CEST 2006 These 'date' commands were given within 15-20 minutes or so. Actual time when the emulator was started was around 2006-10-24 17:30. After rebooting the emulator with 2.6.17-9, the problem was gone. This series from a later boot with 2.6.18, taken within 2 minutes, is even crazier. The system clock on the host runs normally.
