Package: udev
Version: 0.100-1
Severity: wishlist
After the last udev update to 0.100-1 I've got 2 not booting boxes out of 2:
after a couple of hours spent looking around I discovered that the initrd
was not updated: the old initrd, created with 0.098-2, probably contained
scripts that were not compatible with the new version.
udev postinst scripts actually _do_ try to update the initrd, but
update-initramfs systematically fails because "initrd was modified" (or
"customized", I don't remember exactly what it says).
I don't know if this behaviour of mkinitramfs is sane, but I think that it
would be safer if a warning box appears in such cases which informs the user
about what happened, what could be the consequences and how to force the
generation of a new initrd.
Thanks
Mau

that udev bug is fixed in latest.

if you manualy poke with mkinitramfs the sha1sum is modified and
update-initramfs won't touch your image, that is a wanted feature.
