snd_ac97_bus 2880 1 snd_ac97_codec
snd_pcm_oss 51296 0
snd_mixer_oss 17472 1 snd_pcm_oss
snd_pcm 89932 3 snd_atiixp,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm_oss
snd_timer 23944 1 snd_pcm
snd 57984 6
snd_atiixp,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_timer
soundcore 10720 1 snd
snd_page_alloc 11344 2 snd_atiixp,snd_pcm
What is the version of libasound2 in your system?
I've had a similar problem when libasound2 was upgraded to version
1.0.11-6 and was resolved the next day when 1.0.11.7 was released.
During the boot and shutdown phase i could see a lot of error regarding
alsa (which i cannot remember), terminating with a red "failed" message.
Such messages were not logged anywhere.
If this is your problem, doing and upgrade will solve.
Regards.
Cesare.
