The original report complains that rescue shell has wrong keymapping. This can be agreed to be a minor issue. However, no keymap being loaded makes inputting complex cryptoroot passphrase with special characters (especially ones not in the US layout) quite a challenge. Adding loadkeys and users selected keymap could be done in cryptsetup hook scripts. However, since there seems to be users who want correct keymap in other cases as well (the rescue shell), it might be worth implementing in initramfs-tools.
