Just a "me too"... Someone gave me an ultra1 (my first piece of sparc kit and first non i386 debian install) with CG6 (TGX) graphics. I installed basic sarge. I upgraded to the 2.6.8 kernel immediately (and dpkg-reconfigured console-data to pc). I tried to get xserver-xfree86 up and running (marvelling at the yellow debconf dialogs... I actually thought maybe they're colour coded by architecture... yellow for "sun"!) but vt7 remained stubbornly blank, despite no errors logged and clients being apparently able to run happily (but invisibly) there.
So will be going back to good old 2.4... Tim -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
