Please note that this bug (348147) is not about the cryptsetup
hook/script per se anymore, but rather about the possibility to alter
global variables from subscripts.
Therefore, I've cloned Arjan's mail into a separate bug report against
cryptsetup (362564, which in turn in an enhancement of the hook and
script in report 358452).
