Debian's lilo has the current recommended (by evms) device-mapper patch. As a first cut, I didn't follow instructions. LILO and evms work when you use append="root=/dev/evms/newroot" which is what evms's site http://evms.sourceforge.net/install/root.html says to do. Lilo does not work when you use root=/dev/evms/newroot in lilo.conf, which is what I did. I thought the two formulations were equivalent. Live and learn. As a second cut, it might be good if the point were a bit less subtle. It might be worth mentioning in README.Debian (probably for evms; maybe in lilo) or upstream: don't use root= in lilo.conf with evms. I'll let upstream evms know about this. As far as I'm concerned, OK to close, but maybe reassign as a documentation issue. Sorry for the confusion. Ross -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
