The attached post to Deb-Users, and 2 others related, failed to garner a reply. Hope someone on the Kernel List will do me the curtesy of a reply. I would like to uninstall the Linuxant driver to see if the 2.6.15-1-686 kernel will boot. Attempts to boot with "Linux 1, single, -s, -b, emergency, etc. all fail. It seems that the Lilo params are ignored as the driver modules all load as on a normal boot. -s and -b give kernel panic. Have read some of the Jan Kernel list postings and have tried to boot with Linux pci-noacpi and acpi=off but boot still stalls at the location shown in the attached boot message. Have worked with Jonathan at Linuxant support but still haven't got past the boot stalling problem. Be most grateful for any comments.
Leonard Chatagnier I've attempted to install hcfpcimodem-1.08full.deb and hcfpcimodem-1.08full.tar.gz without any success. On the last attempt with the .tar.gz file the drivers apparently loaded successfully but got an error message saying "modem not found(or recognized) and afterwards the boot process stalls shortly after trying to load the modem modules. I don't know how to uninstall the linuxant drivers as I can't boot up the 2.6.15 kernel. If anyone knows how please give me a clue. The only good thing about this new kernel is that it booted the first time after installation. Is the winmodem driver installation an issue with the fs manager(udev not installed). The boot log is copied below with the last line being where the boot process stalled. Any help much appreciated.
