Source: linux Severity: wishlist Version: 6.19~rc4-1~exp1 In linux 6.19, the an initial platform driver named "uniwill" for a variety of laptops was merged. The relevant chip is popular in most laptops sold by Tuxedo (https://www.tuxedocomputers.com/en), but also used in others (see https://github.com/pobrn/qc71_laptop for examples). While the driver is fairly new, it is crucial for power management (hardware monitoring, setting a charging profile, changing the fan speed, keyboard backlight, etc). While I do not expect the driver to cover all possible features in 6.19, it is actively being worked on (https://lore.kernel.org/all/?q=uniwill) and will likely be in a good shape by the time forky is released. Making it available in Debian unstable and testing would ease testing it on a variety of devices.
Please enable CONFIG_X86_PLATFORM_DRIVERS_UNIWILL and CONFIG_UNIWILL_LAPTOP in the non-cloud configuration for amd64. Thanks for considering Helmut
