Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.14-6
Severity: grave

kernel-package 10.0xx does call db_stop before calling the /etc/kernel/*.d
snipplets, which means all debconf using snipplets will be broken, and hang
forever for a response from debconf which will never come. mkvmlinuz is among
those using debconf in a /etc/kernel/*.d snipplet, and as the powerpc kernel
depends on it, the result is that the powerpc kernel will not only be
uninstallable, leave the dpkg-database in a unclean state, and wait-forever
during installation thus playing hell with automated upgrades or whatever.

I guess this means a new 2.6.14-7 upload quickly as soon as k-p gets fixed,
but it would be nice if new k-p upgrades where tested more thoroughly before
being inflicted unto the unsuspecting masses.

Friendly,

Sven Luther

Queued for binNMU, so hopefully that takes care of this bug.

Thanks,
