Dear Maintainer,
sorry for coming up with a 'feature' here.
Did a fresh installation of Debian 12. Normally I used to see between the grub
screen and the desktop screen those 'boot messages' popping up. But with Debian
12 I only get a 'black screen' for a few moments.
I attach the output of 'inxi' print for the machine, which is showing this.
Installing Debian 12 on my T450s (Intel graphic) all is, like it used to be
over the years and the messages between grub and desktop are showing.
Now the strange thing, what puzzles me most.
The grub screen offers advance settings with default kernel 6.1.0-10 and an
alternative kernel 6.1.0-9.
The ONLY thing I do here, start system with 6.1.0-10 and have this 'black
screen' phase, reboot, select 6.1.0-9 and those 'boot messages' come up. And I
can repeat that over and over .... NO changes on the system itself.
So in my eyes this is a thing between kernel 6.1.0-10 and AMD GPU.
Is this 'effect' supposed to be like that?
I personally would miss those messages.
Sorry for bothering you with that.
Regards - Karl

Hi
This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.
If you can reproduce it with
- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports
