Hi Salvatore,
I do not think I had an error. Here is the log left after the update:

The boot partition is part of / and has plenty of space

# df -h
Filesystem      Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev            7.7G     0  7.7G   0% /dev
tmpfs           1.6G  936K  1.6G   1% /run
/dev/sda2       1.8T   13G  1.7T   1% /
tmpfs           7.7G   12K  7.7G   1% /dev/shm
tmpfs           5.0M     0  5.0M   0% /run/lock
/dev/sda1       511M  5.9M  506M   2% /boot/efi
tmpfs           1.6G     0  1.6G   0% /run/user/0

I have left installed with 6.1.0-23 and 6.1.0-26:

# dpkg -l | grep ii | grep linux-image
ii  linux-image-6.1.0-23-amd64    6.1.99-1                                amd64
Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)
ii  linux-image-6.1.0-26-amd64    6.1.112-1                               amd64
Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)
ii  linux-image-amd64             6.1.112-1                               amd64
       Linux for 64-bit PCs (meta-package)

I recreated the initrd:

# update-initramfs -c -k 6.1.0-26-amd64
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-6.1.0-26-amd64
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/tigon/tg3_tso5.bin for module tg3
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/tigon/tg3_tso.bin for module tg3
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/tigon/tg357766.bin for module tg3

After reboot the same kernel panic appears. So probably the problem is not with
broken file during the package installation.
Kind regards,Nikolay

Did you got an error while updating the new linux-image package while
updating the initrd? How many linux-image packages have you left
installed? How much space you have in /boot?  What happens if you
run update-intramfs update for 6.1.0-26 again?

Regards,
Salvatore
