So we'd need some debian-cd magic to exclude yaird > and include initramfs-tools. The reason for yaird favored by recent kernels is simply that yaird was in working condition and initramfs-tools not when 2.6.14 was released. The plan is to favor each tool equally much the next months to come. If d-i decides to use only one tool, then I believe it makes most sense to coordinate between teams and make the tool used by d-i the one favored by the kernels as well, when getting closer to release. Still it might make sense to implement the debian-cd magic, as it would probably be easier to do magic there than rebuild kernels, if for some reason the choice needs to changed late in the game (like development snapshots or CDDs wanting different favorism). - Jonas - -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist og Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ - Enden er nær: http://www.shibumi.org/eoti.htm -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFDeQhun7DbMsAkQLgRAkwVAJ9AfU2q9P4RU5BrsJepjGt3RPlTjgCdHmuK wbfRlb211g3PgqtCD1a0i2s= =7SD9 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
