Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? I'm using bookworm as my desktop OS. I have the following wireless card. 02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Inc. and subsidiaries BCM43225 802.11b/g/n [14e4:4357] (rev 01) This card is not working. It displays a message that "Firmware is missing". 60.592279] brcmsmac bcma0:1: firmware: failed to load brcm/bcm43xx-0.fw (-2) [ 60.593680] firmware_class: See https://wiki.debian.org/Firmware for information about missing firmware [ 60.594859] brcmsmac bcma0:1: firmware: failed to load brcm/bcm43xx-0.fw (-2) i already have firmware-linux-free, firmware-iwlwifi, firmware-misc-nonfree installed on my system. None of these have the file brcm/bcm43xx-0.fw I also tried installing "firmware-b43-installer". This also didn't install the required files. So, the wifi card is unusable on bookwork. I found that the package firmware-brcm80211 has these files, but it is not present in bookworm repo * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: bookworm/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_WARN, TAINT_CRAP Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled
