Now that 989153 and 989181 have been merged into this one and the bug is reopened, then the next question becomes: how to proceed. The current setting in debian/config/config (ie: globally) is this: CONFIG_VIRTIO_CONSOLE=m I can make a MR to change that to =y, but I'm not familiar with VIRTIO_CONSOLE and thus can't assess whether it's useful on all architectures. https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/linux/-/commit/e83e9da65cce7c870acc6b601738dd5d71bdc842 is where the above setting was made ... on 2008-09-04. The helptext in drivers/char/Kconfig says: "Virtio console for use with hypervisors." So: How to proceed?
