Updated metadata accordingly. The primary reason I'm responding is that this bug seems to center around 3 components: kernel, apache and samba/cifs. Yet, it seems to me that this bug has only looked at 1 component, the kernel. Maybe also look at the other components (and get their maintainers involved) ? If this issue does not happen when using f.e. nginx, then it is (also) an apache problem. It should at least help narrow down the possible problem areas which should get you closer to actually fixing this issue.
