Assuming the initramfs at ubuntu people, that runs by default evms (in compat mode) always after mdadm and lvm2, are right: if we have compatibility volumes involved we have to use compatibility systems as well. We have to check regions and see if lvm2 and/or compat raid, and so vgchange/mdadm, are needed. We just need to find the corresponding devices devno's and call AddDevicePlan. They cannot be evms volumes and so the right code from tryLvm and tryRaid should fill in, I will try this later on. So it seems to be a simple fix to be made.
