It has been a few hours now and I am still struggling to get vaapi working on mpv and mplayer. 2d acceleration is bad, so bad that I can see the scrollbar on ALL webpages "struggle" to keep up with the rest of the page when I scroll with the wheel.
And on top of the above, 5.10.40 messed up the cpu temperature sensor readings I get on my conky, so now I have nothing to look at. What a mess!
