Package: src:linux
Version: 4.9.13-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

a freshly installed Debian Stretch on a Thinkpad X201s crashes from time to
time. I suspect that there
is some kind of correlation with the intel modesetting driver. I am not able to
debug this, but I tested
the very same system with a different distribution (Fedora) that still uses the
old Xorg intel driver and
it did not show this behaviour.

   * What led up to the situation?

Normal system usage, no special software was used: Thunderbird/Icedove, Chrome,
vlc, OpenVPN...

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Nothing special, see software list above.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

- random display flicker
- error messages:

    [ 3389.140167] [drm:ironlake_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO
underrun
    [ 3389.140244] [drm:ironlake_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* PCH transcoder A
FIFO underrun

- finally: black screen, sometimes with some coloured pixels at the left screen
border

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

A stable system. :)
