Hello, Salvatore. I've just tested two kernels from debian backports for Buster, namely
linux-image-5.10.0-0.bpo.5-686_5.10.24-1~bpo10+1_i386 (non-pae) and linux-image-5.10.0-0.bpo.5-686-pae_5.10.24-1~bpo10+1_i386 (pae). I've used the very same laptop for this test, literally not a single component was changed in it. I'm glad to tell you that this bug seems to be fixed in those kernels. Currently writing this e-mail using this laptop, woken up from hibernation using the pae kernel without "nokalsr" option passed in the kernel command line: $ uname -a Linux laptop 5.10.0-0.bpo.5-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 5.10.24-1~bpo10+1 (2021-03-29) i686 GNU/Linux $ cat /proc/cmdline BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz quiet initrd=/initrd.img resume=/dev/sda2 root=/dev/sda1 Thank you for spending time on this rather minor issue and reminding me of it! If you need me to test other kernels, I'll be glad to do so. Regards, Krylov Michael.
