Where is your patch? I see just an obscure wish.
Hint: packages using module-assistant do already choose the right
compiler or print a warning like the one you mentioned if the compiler
is not installed.
However, an extension of kernel-kbuild would solve the "problem" more
consistently, even for future gcc transitions.
