I just upgraded to linux-image-2.6.12-1-k7 (from 2.6.11-1-k7) and the
continuous scrolling
rivafb_pan_display START

version of this problem appeared. Just to get the system to boot, I
tried renaming /lib/modules/2.6.12-1-k7/kernel/drivers/video/riva/rivafb.ko
to a bogus name so it wouldn't get loaded, and the system booted fine (I
suppose I'm missing some nVidia-special features, but everything looks
ok and X.org even came up using the nv driver.)
