Thanks Ben, I re-installed the libreoffice-gtk2 package. I have disabled Java Runtime Environment.
Steps to disable Java in libreoffice. 1. Launch libreoffice 2. Tools -> Options -> Advanced 3. Uncheck "Use a Java runtime environment" I got lowriter (libreoffice-writer) to launch. (As you stated it would.) I wanted to add these steps to the bug report just for journaling. Nothing wrong with that right?
