Package: linux-image-amd64 Version: 4.6+74~bpo8+1 Severity: important Hi,
I have an Intel Nuc BOXNUC5PPYH Barebone PC and upgraded to kernel 4.6. Since then I've seen that within the X session I get many freezes, which did not occur with kernel 4.5. Is there a regression around ? To reproduce the issue : DO : start KDM DO : open a KDE session with graphic effects enabled (like transparency) EXPECT : the session is usable ACTUAL : the session freezes while the mouse is still operational Note : I can see the following message in the logs : Jun 24 22:20:06 pccore2duo kernel: [ 217.909567] [drm:intel_check_cpu_fifo_underruns [i915]] *ERROR* pipe A underrun The computer then becomes frozen under an X session but it can be reached through SSH. The issue did not appear with kernel 4.5.x Workaround : Add the following parameter to kernel command line : i915.enable_fbc=0 Rgds -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.5 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages linux-image-amd64 depends on: ii linux-image-4.6.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 4.6.1-1~bpo8+1 linux-image-amd64 recommends no packages. linux-image-amd64 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
