This concerns a discrepency in behavior between this kernel image and kernel-image-2.4.27-2-k7 with alsa-modules-2.4.27-2-k7 (1.0.8+2). With the 2.4 kernel and modules, onboard CMedia CMI-9761A codec is correctly detected by modprobe snd-ac97-codec; alsaconf. Device is not detected when booting from 2.6 kernel.
