Downgrading to 3.16.7-ckt11-1+deb8u3 resolves the problem. My first guess was that it was related to the recently added net-add-validation-for-the-socket-syscall-protocol.patch fix, so I tried backing that out, but it didn't help. Then I realized that there were a lot more changes between 3.16.7-ckt11-1+deb8u3 and 3.16.7-ckt20-1+deb8u1 than what were described in the DSA.
